Lynda Ellis, University of Minnesota Extension Service-Master Gardener Program-Anoka County
Water is a precious resource and our usage is one of the biggest challenges facing the nation in the coming years. People who care for a yard or garden can help protect water resources by being wise about watering practices, starting in their own backyards. During this talk you will learn about the effects of soil texture on water movement and availability to plants, and recommended watering for trees and shrubs. For more information, click here.
After over 40 years as a faculty member at the University of Minnesota, Lynda Ellis retired and began a new life as an Anoka County Master Gardener (ACMG) in 2014. In the ACMG organization, she is a coordinator of the Writer's Guild, Newsletter Editor, and works on the ACMG Website. She wants to be a good steward of our environment and, as a member of the Speaker’s Bureau, presents classes and talks on sustainable gardening, native plants, garden apps, and rain gardens.
